National phase translation and filing
When the EPO issues a decision to grant a patent, translations of the granted text are required for filing in the patent offices of most of the designated states. However, filing formalities vary in each state.
Many applicants instruct a patent attorney in each of the designated states to undertake the translation and filing. This can mean high costs, and an extensive administrative burden for the applicant.
We are currently handling translation and filing of 110-130 cases per month and offer a comprehensive service for granted European patents. Benefits include:
- the minimum number of translations are produced;
- where national regulations permit, we file directly or use a local contact to save on unnecessary fees - this includes France and Germany;
- where the services of a patent attorney are required, we are able to pass-on the very favourable rates charged to us by our long-established contacts;
- we are able to stand as address for service, and arrange payment of annuities via our partner PAVIS if required.
Cost savings:
Our charges are all-inclusive. There are no hidden extras such as typing, insertion of formulae / graphics, certification, fee for standing as address for service, fee for co-ordinating powers of attorney, postal disbursements, charges for extra copies, charges for forwarding official printed patents, charges for forwarding any subsequent official communications, etc.
Detailed estimates for translation and filing are available without obligation or charge. All we need is an EP publication or application number of one of your applications.
Administration savings:
We take care of most formalities. Procedures could not be easier:
