Trados Makes an Industry Commitment and Announces Its Latest Round of Feature Releases

Trados, the industry-leading translation platform by RWS, recently shared their industry commitment to translate everything. Together we want to remove language barriers to bring the world closer together. To support this goal, we continuously deliver new innovations to our cloud-based environment and seamlessly integrated desktop CAT tool. In the first three months of 2023, we released over a hundred updates, resulting in dozens of new features for our users to enjoy. We want to keep you up to date with the latest developments, which is why we provide quarterly round-ups of our key updates.

Translation management functionality for better automation and intelligence 

Improving the localization workflow is at the heart of Trados. The workflow editor introduced in 2021 saves significant time by enabling you to customize and automate workflows with ease. As part of our ongoing commitment to workflow functionality, we have introduced Dynamic Assignment, which streamlines the workflow process and reduces the need for manual assignment.

Translation collaboration enhancements to streamline project creation and keep them running smoothly

Trados is optimized for everyone, with role-specific interfaces. We know Project Managers spend a lot of time in their TMS, which is why we have released many new features to make Project Managers’ lives easier. For example, with the new Project Groups feature, we allow users to add multiple projects to a group and perform bulk actions against all of them. 

Translation productivity features designed to speed up translation processes and improve consistency

Trados Studio 2022’s OpenAI Translator plugin assists users’ while translating by leveraging OpenAI’s language models, with features like alternative translations based on prompts, additional information about source/target content, and manual or automatic translation triggering. Supporting multiple models including GPT-4, the plugin can be installed via the RWS AppStore or directly within Trados Studio.
