We are delighted to report that at the recent China IP International Forum and 2023 Annual Conference of In-house IP Managers, held in Beijing, RWS was presented with an award for the ‘Outstanding IP Services Team’ in China for 2022.

Jennifer Zheng, General Manager of RWS China, was invited to the forum to deliver a speech on the topic of “The Change and Challenge of IP Services Circumstances in the Post-Pandemic Era.” The forum this year focused on a broad range of Intellectual Property issues, including IP management and enterprise legal compliance.

To receive this award for ‘Outstanding IP Service Team’ the successful recipient must score highly in a number of key criteria, including the team's professionalism, business processes, and IP research capabilities, alongside a comprehensive review of the team's stability, innovation, and public welfare. The strengths of the RWS IP Services team in China were analyzed through interviews and reports.

With more than 60 years of experience in providing IP services to global clients, and a presence of over 10 years in China, RWS has developed some unique experience and a large number of satisfied clients both within China and globally.

During her keynote speech at the forum, Jennifer Zheng talked about the experience that RWS China has enjoyed over its 10 year history, combined with many of the opportunities and challenges before, during and after the pandemic era. She also touched on the importance of optimizing complex administrative IP processes, to save clients time and money, whilst also freeing up valuable staff for more margin rich activities. Her speech summarized four key takeaway points on how RWS IP Services has adapted to market conditions in the face of rising costs, low-tech local competition, shortages of experienced IP talent and the increasing recognition of the importance of high-quality patent translation.

The annual forum attracted leaders from legal departments within corporate enterprises, and patent agents, IP experts, and industry elites.

Jennifer Zheng, RWS country manager based in Beijing commented, “Winning the award is a tremendous accolade for RWS, not only in recognition of RWS’s ability to deliver outstanding IP services to a large client base, and our long standing partnerships with local Chinese patent agents, but it also acts as a motivation to progress and pioneer further, partnering with customers to deliver comprehensive IP services solutions and high-quality services as a global leading IP services provider.”

Daniel Bennett, President of RWS IP Services, based in the UK head office, said, “Since joining the business recently I’ve been very impressed by the close working cooperation between the UK head office IP Operations team and the China delivery team. There is a huge passion to go above and beyond and exceed customer expectations, and deliver quantifiable value.”
