HR Officer – Chalfont St Peter

We have a full-time, permanent vacancy for an experienced HR Officer to work within our busy HR team based in Chalfont St Peter.  Reporting to the department manager, you will work on a variety of generalist topics, with a key focus on recruitment but also with the opportunity to work on employee relations, L&D and reward.

Main duties:

  • Identifying and developing effective recruitment plans for candidate attraction
  • Actively promoting all live vacancies across all relevant channels including social media
  • Briefing of and relationship building with recruitment agencies and consultants
  • Liaising with candidates, line managers and agencies on interview arrangements
  • Organising the testing of candidates
  • Carrying out interviews in conjunction with the line manager
  • Providing support to line managers and supervisors on people-related issues
  • Dealing with day-to-day HR queries at all levels by phone, email and in person, escalating to the HR Manager where appropriate
  • Advising and supporting on employee relations issues either in the capacity of note taker and support or lead adviser
  • Working on HR projects in line with business and people plans
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required to support the HR team

Essential skills/experience:

  • Experience within an HR Officer/Partner or similar role with particular emphasis on recruitment and interviewing
  • Experience of having advised line managers on a variety of HR/staff issues
  • Good knowledge of current employment legislation
  • Advanced user of social media with experience of its application in recruitment
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with internal customers
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
