Our client, a well-known IT technology company, is seeking Linguist Functional Testers to provide linguistic and functional testing services for their products and devices. The Tester works closely with both the internal Test Leads and Test Development team to flag and resolve issues impacting product user experience in non-English languages and markets. The ideal candidate is good at both finding software defects as well as linguistic issues in their native tongue and describing them in an organized and clear way into a defect tracking database. Excellent command of their native tongue and language fluency in English (both spoken and written) is required.

We are looking for people with native speaker fluency in the following languages to work ON-SITE in our office in Dublin, Ireland

Tier 1: Arabic (Modern Standard), German, English (British), Spanish (European), Spanish (Latin American), French (European), Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Thai, Turkish, Chinese (Simplified, Mandarin), Chinese (Traditional, Mandarin)

Tier 2: Bulgarian, Catalan, Czech, Danish, Greek, Persian, Finnish, Filipino, Hindi, Croatian, Hungarian, Indonesian, Hebrew, Lithuanian, Latvian, Norwegian (Bokmål), Portuguese (European), Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Serbian (Cyrillic), Swedish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese

  • Conduct linguistic and functional testing of software products against written
  • Test Plans, file defects into a database
  • Test on multiple platforms (web, mobile, smart home devices etc.)
  • Recognize and file language, regional and cultural issues within software products that might affect localized user experience
  • Work with the internal teams and client’s representatives to test and refine the localized user experience
  • Use remote control and desktop-sharing tools and defect tracking software (JIRA etc.)
  • Setup PCs and devices, install tested products
  • Ad-hoc and regression testing of localized products
  • Report issues and discrepancies in Test Plans, suggest edits


  • Knowledge of Windows, Mac OS, Android and iOS operating systems and devices
  • Native speaker in target language, good command of its grammar, awareness of its current, up-to-date usage
  • Active connection and deep knowledge of current cultural landscape and trends in target market
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong ability to research, multitask, and prioritize

Nice to have

  • 1+ years experience working on mobile devices and smart home devices
  • 1+ years experience working in the software testing field
  • Familiarity with black-box testing
  • For right-to-left languages: Proven record of testing experience and UI knowledge


  • Must have a diploma from the native targeted country that is equivalent or higher than an Ireland Secondary diploma.
