Good afternoon from New York City. Here are some of the foreign filing stories we’ve gathered to take you into this rainy weekend:
- Have you read our annual report yet, „The Global Patent & IP Trends Indicator„? One tidbit from the Indicator includes that in 2014, filing internationally increased as 72% of applicants filed into 4 or more countries, an uptick in the number of average destinations per patent family.
- Our colleague at RWS Group, Austyn Hardy, recently published an article, „The effect of patents on innovation“. Take a look at this interesting read.
- Seven member states of the EPO, including France, Germany and the UK, signed the Protocol on the Provisional Application of the Agreement on the Unified Patent Court. Read more now.
- The USPTO launched a tool that allows members of the public to view nearly 40 years of data on patenting activity in the United States.
That’s all for today. Check back next week for another roundup and follow us on Twitter @inoviaIP for more updates.
