* Power of Attorney forms must be notarized and legalized via either the Apostille procedure or at a Honduran consulate in your home country - one will suffice for all Central American countries. If a power is not restricted by the grantor to a specific case, it can be used for other matters. The consulate will provide instructions on the procedure; note that costs will be incurred for this.


** Assignments are only required if the applicant of the priority application is different to the applicant of the Panamanian application, or if no assignment was filed with the IB during the PCT international phase.


*** The Spanish translation can be submitted within two months from the filing date.

* Power of Attorney and included Notary Certificate need to be completed and then legalized via either the Apostille or at a Honduran consulate in your home country - one will suffice for all Central American countries. ** In some cases Assignments are required if the Declaration as provided in rules 4.17(iii) and 51bis.1(a)(iii) are not available on WIPO. The Panamanian PTO will request such assignment document to be submitted after filing the patent application by means of an office action. This assignment has to be signed by the inventors, certified by Notary Public and legalized by means of an Apostille.


*** The Spanish translation can be submitted within two months from the filing date.


• A certified filing receipt of the Priority Document, translated into Spanish, must be filed within six months from the filing date.


• All documents filed into Panama must be in Spanish, therefore, the assignment and Priority Document filing receipts must also be in Spanish.


• All required documents must be filed on time to avoid incurring late fees.
