We are thrilled to announce that we ranked number one in the world for the second consecutive year by Managing Intellectual Property magazine’s annual ranking of the top Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) firms. For the fifth consecutive year, we are first in the United States for national stage entries. In total, inovia nationalized 1,800 PCTs in 2015, an increase of over 16% from 2014.
Now in its seventh year, Managing IP’s list of law firms instructing the foreign filing of the most PCT patent applications is based on details published by the WIPO. Managing IP’s top PCT firms list is a crucial benchmark of firms’ activities in the patent market, especially as PCT applications are assuming a greater role in IP owner’s strategies. The survey is a go-to tool for law firms seeking a reliable resource for identifying potential attorney firms around the world with whom they can exchange patent work.
“We are thrilled to be number one in the world for the second consecutive year,” Justin Simpson, Founder of inovia, recently remarked. “Since the survey began our PCT numbers have almost quadrupled, with a 16% filing increase last year alone. Together with RWS Group and their translation expertise, our IP services are unmatched in this industry. We couldn’t be more excited for the future of our business.”
In addition to providing comprehensive technology to simplify the foreign filing process and reduce costs, inovia has a global network of agents in over 130 countries. As in previous years, inovia’s foreign agents ranked among the top filers in their markets in Managing IP’s survey. China Pat Intellectual Property Office and AFD China Intellectual Property are seventh and eleventh in the world respectively, showing China’s influence on the filing strategies of patentees throughout the world.
Ranking first in their respected countries was Reinhold Cohn & Partners of Israel for the third consecutive year and Awapatent of Sweden for the fourth consecutive year. Second in their jurisdictions included China Pat Intellectual Property Office of China, Nederlandsch Octrooibureau (NLO) of the Netherlands and Y.P. Lee, Mock & Partners of South Korea.
Other top-ranking inovia agents in their local regions include Meissner Bolte of Germany (#3), Jacobacci & Partners S.p.A. of Italy (#3), Bereskin & Parr of Canada (#3), Papula-Nevinpat of Finland (#4), Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan of India (#4), Herrero & Asociados of Spain (#4), S.
