RWS is aware of the Court of Justice of the European Union decision known as “Schrems II”. Transfers of personal data from EEA, Switzerland and UK to RWS companies in the US continue to take place under the EU Standard Contractual Clause framework. RWS continues to monitor developments. Currently RWS Life Sciences Inc. and SDL Inc. maintains its Privacy Shield certifications.

RWS has developed a global privacy programme based on the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) and UK Data Protection Act 2018 (‘DPA’) principles, reflected in our policies and procedures. We implement where required additional data privacy requirements in accordance with the laws of the different countries in which we operate, including but not limited to:

The European and UK standards are seen as a benchmark for best practice. RWS has adopted these standards as our best practice but where required we adapt our practices for the laws of the different countries in which we operate.
