Practical Tips for Introducing a Language Element to your Events

Engaging interpreters most definitely has budgetary and operational implications for your event. Getting it wrong can result in nasty and costly hiccups. Happily, getting it right is simply a case of knowing the right questions to ask. We are delighted to announce we have designed a seminar specifically to help event organisers who are new to booking interpreting services. The breakfast workshop will take place on Wednesday 2nd March in London as part of UK Events Week which aims to shine the spotlight on the UK events industry. Heralded around the world as a hotbed of innovative technology, expertise and creative talent, the week’s three main themes are Business, Marketing and Industry.
Having worked as an Events Organiser myself for many years, I’ll be combining this knowledge with my current role on RWS’s Interpreting Team to pass on some really useful and practical advice.
During the morning, I’ll be looking at various scenarios from press launches to commercial meetings up to multi-language international conferences and European Works Councils.
Those who come along will gain all the information they need to:
- Choose the best interpreting style for their event
- Find and work with the right interpreters
- Order the correct audio and interpreting equipment
- Select a suitable venue and room lay out
- Plan a realistic budget & timeframe
- Co-ordinate supporting translation requirements
This free workshop takes place at the Hilton London Olympia on Wednesday 2nd March from 08.45 – 10.00 and includes bacon rolls and refreshments.
The workshop has the extra bonus that it will be only 5 minutes from the excellent International Confex Expo so you will be able to take along your interpreting requirements to the huge array of meeting venues who exhibit at the show. It’s one of the best meeting shows in the UK and is well worth a visit.
