Chinese Intellectual Property News – August 2012
There have been some exciting IP developments in China in recent months. Take a look at the latest news from the State Intellectual Property Office of China, provided by our friends at AFD China:
- As of August 1st, the Measures for the Administration of Priority Review of Invention Patent Applications came into effect, giving some applicants the privilege of fast-tracking their patents.
- A Sino-Russian PPH pilot program will be tested through July of 2013 to streamline patent prosecution procedures between the two offices.
- China is running a nationwide campaign through November to crack down on copyright infringement with officials encouraging the public to take an active role in the fight.
- China has determined 2012 as the “patent examination culture” year, with a focus on making the process “objective, fair, accurate and timely.”
