New EPO Fee Schedule Effective April 1, 2012

Unfortunately, it’s not an April Fools’ Day joke. A new fee schedule for the European Patent Office (EPO) comes into effect on April 1, 2012. Luckily, the fee increases are fairly small. Changes for a few of the more common fees are described below:

So do you have an upcoming European filing, either through the Paris Convention or the national stage filing for a PCT application? Filing that application before April 1 will save you some money. The same goes for any European divisional applications that you are considering.
