Supported patent filings

* Unlike most countries that require signed forms from the applicant, the Colombian Patent Office accepts faxed or scanned copies of the Power of Attorney forms and Assignment forms.

** An amendment to reduce the claims may be submitted. Any amendments made will incur additional translation costs.

• The published set of claims must be filed at national phase entry.

• A certified copy of the Priority Document and its Spanish translation, or DAS code, needs to be filed within 16 months from the earliest priority date (with details needed at filing).

• Examination can be requested up to 6 months after the application is published.
