We are excited to bring you the next two installment of WIPO’s “Learn the PCT” series. In Episode 7, Mathias Reischle, Deputy Director of the PCT Legal Division, discusses how to add or correct a priority claim made in an international application under the PCT. This is helpful to know in case you’ve left out data or made a typo after filing. In Episode 8, he discusses certain ways to correct defects in an international application. He goes on to explain in what situations some defects might be more difficult to fix than others.

I’m pleased to bring you the next two episodes in WIPO’s series, “Learn the PCT”. Deputy Director Matthias Reischle introduces the main features of incorporation by reference in Episode 9. He explains how this procedure operates and how to make use of it in an international application. This is helpful if you filed an incomplete application and you want to add something that was missing without changing the international filing date.
In Episode 10, he talks about rectification of obvious mistakes. This procedure allows applicants the ability to fix certain errors in their application. However, proving an “obvious mistake” entails two steps and is often a difficult task. Please see below to watch these informative clips:
