An introduction to translation memory

Translation memories (TMs) are used with computer-assisted translation tools, such as Trados Studio, to automatically suggest stored identical or similar matches as new documents are translated. This means that sentences, paragraphs or segments of text that have been previously translated never need to be translated again. TMs support the localization process, dramatically improving the quality, speed, consistency and efficiency of every translation job.

If you are new to translation technology, this ebook, written by Emma Goldsmith, provides an in-depth introduction to translation memory technology and includes:

  • Why you would want to use a TM
  • How to start using a TM in your translation projects
  • Getting the most out of your TM
