Pete Smith is Chief Analytics Officer and Professor of Modern Languages at the University of Texas Arlington, where he oversees the office of University Analytics. He founded or cofounded multiple facilities at UTA, including: the Language Acquisition Center, the Center for Distance Education, the Learning Innovation and Networked Knowledge (LINK) lab, and the office of University Analytics. Additionally, Pete serves as Program Director for UTA’s Localization and Translation certificate, and conducts research in the fields of natural language understanding (NLU) and machine translation.
