New features

Granular BluePrinting

Granular BluePrinting

Granular BluePrinting allows you to have more precise control over inheritance by defining which fields a user can or cannot modify in a child item.

It works for content items as well as regions and is based on two new key features:

Non-localizable fields:  Define at the parent level which fields must be excluded from localization, so that their values are propagated automatically without an editor being able to modify them in the child item.

Non-localizable regions:  In a similar vein, specify whether a region can be localized or not to prevent editors from making unintended changes in the child item.

BluePrinting management features

BluePrinting management features

In Experience Space, a range of BluePrinting management features and improvements has been added:

  • ‘Quick create’ for child publications
  • ‘Add/remove parent’ action for publications
  • ‘Promote’ (move items and dependencies to a higher publication)
  • ‘Demote’ (move items and nested items to a lower publication)
  • View and update parent publication priority
  • A ‘Primary item’ link was added to the Blueprint panel (relevant for Granular BluePrinting)
  • The BluePrinting panel now shows item names

Contextual views for translators

Contextual views for translators

Translators can now preview the content they have to translate, which improves translations and speeds up the process. Two options are available:

Contextual preview links: In Tridion Sites, Translation Manager can automatically include "View on Site" URLs in the jobs sent for translation, allowing translators to open a staging server page and view the translated content in the context of the delivered page.

Attachments: In Tridion Sites, users can attach files such as PDFs, PNGs or other relevant documents to the translation job to provide translators with additional context.

In addition, Translation Manager behaviour has been improved by applying translations only to the fields that are translatable, while non-translatable content fields are no longer overwritten with the parent’s values.
