Concordance search
Description
Concordance search is a core function of translation technology. Rather than matching entire sentences (segments), it searches for partial or non-exact matches, giving linguists context on how similar terms or expressions have previously been handled.
This function is especially valuable when a new segment does not have a direct match in the translation memory. By reviewing how related phrases were translated before, linguists can ensure that terminology and style remain consistent with the client’s preferences. In RWS Trados, concordance search helps translators and reviewers find context quickly, verify terminology and apply consistent linguistic choices – all within the same secure workspace. It supports productivity while enhancing translation quality across multilingual projects.
