Contenta Publishing Suite

Contenta Publishing Suite (CPS) is RWS’s high-performance publishing solution for structured technical content. It transforms XML and data modules managed in Contenta into fully formatted, compliant documents ready for print, digital or interactive delivery.

Description

Built to complement the Contenta CSDB, CPS automates complex publishing workflows for technical manuals, operational guides and maintenance documentation. It converts structured content into multiple output formats – including PDF, HTML and mobile.

CPS ensures that every published asset maintains structure, layout and data integrity while meeting industry standards such as S1000D and ATA iSpec 2200. It integrates with RWS’s Desktop publishing (DTP) engine, XPP, to deliver speed and scalability across large, content-rich programs. This combination gives enterprises a single, end-to-end environment for authoring, managing and publishing mission-critical content.

Example use cases

  • Technical publications: Automate publishing for maintenance and operational documentation.
  • Aerospace and defense: Deliver S1000D-compliant manuals across multiple formats.
  • Manufacturing: Create multilingual manuals directly from structured data.
  • Regulated industries: Publish validated, traceable content for compliance and auditing.

At RWS, the Contenta Publishing Suite is central to how we deliver structured content efficiently and at scale. Together with Contenta CSDB and XPP, CPS automates the path from content creation to delivery – ensuring accuracy, compliance and repeatability.

Our Human + Technology model combines expert implementation with intelligent automation, allowing technical authors and publishers to focus on content quality rather than manual layout. This approach has helped customers like the United States Air Force modernize documentation delivery and maintain mission readiness across systems. By simplifying the most complex publishing environments, CPS turns structured data into usable, accessible knowledge – delivered anywhere it’s needed.
