Linguistic resources

Linguistic resources are the collection of reference materials, data assets and tools that support the translation and localization process. They include translation memories (TM), termbases, glossaries, translation style guides and corpora that guide translators and ensure linguistic consistency.

Description

Linguistic resources form the backbone of every multilingual content workflow. They provide translators and reviewers with the context, terminology and examples needed to produce accurate, brand-aligned translations across projects and languages.

These resources evolve over time – growing in value as more content is localized. Effective management of linguistic resources improves efficiency, reduces rework and maintains consistent tone and terminology across all touchpoints. In RWS workflows, linguistic resources are maintained through centralized systems such as Trados, Language Weaver and TrainAI, ensuring that human expertise and automation work in sync. This Human + Technology model allows RWS to deliver linguistic precision at scale while continuously improving translation quality and reusability.
