Passolo

Passolo is a specialized software localization tool developed by RWS that enables the efficient translation and adaptation of user interfaces (UIs), resource files and other software elements without requiring access to source code. It is designed to streamline complex software localization projects through automation, context visualization and real-time QA.

Description

Passolo is part of RWS’s Trados portfolio and integrates seamlessly with Trados Studio and other translation management technologies. It supports a wide range of software file formats – including EXE, DLL, XML and JSON – making it ideal for localizing desktop, mobile and embedded applications.

The platform allows linguists to preview text in its visual context, reducing errors and ensuring UI elements fit correctly within the interface. Features such as translation memory (TM) integration, terminology management and automated QA checks improve efficiency and maintain linguistic and technical consistency across projects.
