Quality assurance
Description
Quality is not an accident; it is a planned outcome. QA provides the framework for delivering consistent results across languages and projects. It combines automated tools with human expertise.
Automated QA tools (integrated into platforms like Trados) scan for objective errors: missing numbers, inconsistent punctuation, untranslated segments or terminology mismatches. Linguistic QA (LQA) involves human review by a second, independent linguist who assesses subjective elements like tone, flow and cultural nuance. For software and digital content, QA also includes Functional testing to verify that the localized product works correctly. RWS employs a rigorous QA methodology supported by data. We use metrics like LQA scores to track quality trends over time, allowing us to identify areas for improvement in both source content and translation performance.
