A day in the life of a Talent Management Specialist

Hello, World! My name is Camille Churet, and I'm a Talent Management Specialist for the French supply chain.
Simply put, my role is to oversee the relation of RWS with all external vendors collaborating with us for the French Language, as well as making sure we always have sufficient capacities to meet the ever-growing needs of our many teams.
As such, my job requires me to keep in touch not only with external vendors from all over the world (although most would be based in France), but also with colleagues from across the company who may need some help identifying the ‘talent’ most suited to work on their projects.
As you can imagine, the biggest challenge – and my favorite part – of this job is being able to multitask and know how to prioritize different requests, as anyone can get in touch anytime with the Supply Chain Team to ask for support on an ongoing project or initiative.
Being able to acknowledge every request and provide suitable solutions for everyone is always a rush, but nothing beats the satisfaction of coming up with a plan that will bring success to one of our teams!
I am in touch daily with our vendors, who regularly contact me to ask about rates, new collaboration opportunities or simply updating their Workzone profile to give better visibility on their skill set to our teams. As the main point of contact displayed on their RWS Profile homepage, I tend to be the first person they reach out to. As such, I like to think that keeping a joyful mood and a solution-oriented mindset is key to ensuring the good ongoing relationship we have with our vendors, and it also helps approaching each new request like an opportunity to bring practical solutions to whoever might need them.
With all this in mind, a typical day in the supply chain is hard to pin down and describe accurately.
Most of the time, I will start my day with a list of tasks both short-term and long-term and then change it throughout the day as I receive new requests to make sure all priorities are sorted out in a timely manner. Over the course of the day, I may end up talking with vendors, in-house linguists and managers, colleagues from other teams, or anyone else that may require my help.
I never fully know what a new day has in store for me, and that's part of the fun! But the best part will always be the chance to work with people so passionate about their job and knowing that I'm part of such a talented team from all over the world 😊
