RWS Campus Online 2024 – shaping the future of localization
25 Jul 2024

The RWS Campus team is excited to share the success of our recent flagship event – the RWS Campus Online conference. This free, two-day virtual gathering truly stands out as a unique event in our industry, designed specifically for students and recent graduates interested in a career in localization and university lecturers preparing students for roles in the industry.
We also spotlighted internship and training opportunities at RWS, offered practical tips for using translation technology and leveraging AI to boost productivity, and explored advances in accessibility in CAT tools. The conference concluded with an insightful panel discussion on AI’s impact on education, assessment and careers, fostering knowledge-sharing between representatives from academia, RWS and the localization community. If you would like to watch the sessions from the event, they are available in our RWS Community.
We received over 2,500 registrations from 127 countries, with an impressive increase in engagement in Africa specifically, where registrations more than tripled compared to last year. The event received high praise for its diverse and informative content, ease of access, and well-organized structure. Attendees appreciated the availability of on-demand content, which allowed them to engage with the material at their convenience, and the event achieved an impressive overall rating of 4.64 out of 5. The RWS Campus Online 2024 attracted significant interest from freelancers as well, highlighting the value of these gatherings not only for students and educators but also for more senior localization professionals seeking insights into the latest trends in localization, AI, translation technology, and professional development.
Here is some feedback we have received from attendees:
“Excellent, concise and informative sessions that delivered targeted information. The practical demonstrations in some of the sessions were incredibly valuable.”
“The event was superb, offering invaluable insights for both new and seasoned translators. From networking opportunities to hearing diverse experiences, it was excellent throughout.”
We are incredibly proud to see how the RWS Campus Online event has been growing year after year and how by using a virtual platform we have been able to reach more people from more locations. We hope to continue to bring relevant content on localization, technology and careers through events such as the RWS Campus Online Event to inspire educators and empower budding localization professionals.
