Privacy Notice for Papercup Voice Talent
As part of the services you agreed to provide, your VR will be used to create AI-generated synthetic voices. In addition, your VR will be used for RWS’s licensing purposes to our trusted clients, who in turn may use it for their Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning training as per the terms of our agreement.
We process your VR on the legal basis of performance of a contract. The use of your VR, including for the development of AI technologies by us and our clients, is necessary to fulfil the commercial purposes outlined in the agreement under which you provided your services.
To achieve the purposes described above, RWS shares or licenses your VR to third-party clients who are developing AI technologies.
Where we use third-party service providers, they act for, on behalf of, and under the instructions of RWS, and are required to adhere to our policies, procedures and processes in compliance with applicable data privacy laws.
RWS may also share your information with third parties as required to (i) comply with any applicable law, regulation or legal process; and (ii) detect or prevent fraud and security breaches.
Given the international nature of our services, personal data transfers will need to be made both internally within the RWS group, and externally to our third-party clients and service providers described above.
Where your personal data is transferred to a country which is not governed by a data protection law affording a similar or adequate level of data protection than that in force in your country of residence, or to which no adequacy decision has been issued by the relevant European Commission, RWS has taken steps to ensure an adequate level of protection of the transferred data in the country of transfer by entering into appropriate data transfer agreements such as those based on the European Standard Contractual Clauses (also known as European Model Clauses) issued by the European Commission. This will enable the safeguarding of your information in the overseas country.
RWS’s objective when processing your personal data is to both protect and handle it responsibly. We are committed to complying with this Privacy Notice and applicable data protection and privacy laws including but not limited to the EU General Data Protection Regulation of 2016 and UK Data Protection Act of 2018.
You are entitled to several rights in relation to your personal data under application data protection laws:
- You have a right to access and rectify the personal data RWS processes about you. Upon legitimate grounds, you also have a right to erasure (right to be forgotten) of your personal information.
- Depending on your country of residence and upon legitimate grounds, you also have a right to restrict the processing of your personal information, a right to object to the processing, and a right to data portability.
- You also have a right to lodge a complaint with your local Supervisory Authority responsible for overseeing the processing of personal data. In the list of RWS Companies are details of the relevant Supervisory Authorities per country in which we operate.
