Experienced at leading and shaping global organizations: Ian El-Mokadem joined RWS Group as CEO in July 2021. He has over thirty years’ experience of working in and leading large, multinational service businesses. His past roles span a range of functions from strategy and marketing to holding full profit and loss accountability in both CEO and Managing Director positions.
Focused on delivering growth: Ian brings a keen focus on meeting and exceeding the needs of customers. He has extensive experience of delivering organic growth and completing a large number of successful acquisitions through his past leadership roles at V.Group, Exova Group, Compass Group and Centrica. His previous positions have often involved the delivery of large, complex, technology-enabled business transformations.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - Desmond Glass
Highly experienced leader: Desmond has almost 20 years’ experience in senior finance roles across a range of sectors in UK and US headquartered businesses with international operations. He had a central role in GAN’s development from internet start-up to its IPO in November 2013, and subsequently increasing the company’s market profile with both existing shareholders and the wider investment community.
Alternative Investment Market (AIM) experience: as CFO for GAN plc, Desmond was instrumental in preparing the company for its successful AIM public listing in November 2013, and subsequently expanding the company’s operations and delivery capability across the US and Europe.
Finance strategy design and delivery: at GAN plc Desmond took the financial lead in driving the US market entry strategy and played a key role in expanding the company’s operations and delivery across the US and Europe. During his time at Rodale International, Desmond took on the role of shaping and delivering the financial strategy of the international portfolio of joint ventures and licensees of this market leading health and wellness media company.
CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER - Roddy Temperley
Effective global HR leader: Roddy Temperley was appointed Chief People Officer in August 2021 and oversees the company’s culture, people strategy, recruitment and employee engagement programs.
Highly skilled at transforming business cultures: He has over 20 years’ experience in transforming and leading large HR teams within global companies, including Credit Suisse, SAP, PeopleSoft and Unisys.
Passionate about people and diversity: Roddy is highly passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion, corporate social responsibility, and building a culture within the organization that encourages and empowers everyone to perform at their best.
GROUP CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR - Christopher Lewey
Experienced leader: Christopher has extensive experience in leadership roles in a number of companies where he has led teams with responsibility for delivering strategic projects, M&A and integration, and as an investment banker where he has led sector teams and advised clients in a wide range of industries on both domestic and international M&A.
Good communication skills: with the ability to build, lead and motivate teams with experience at all levels of management.
Strong financial skills: Christopher has more than 20 years’ experience as a financial professional in a range of roles, including both advising and working as an executive in publicly listed companies.
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER - Azad Ootam
Strong transformational skills and experience: Azad has spent much of his career on large-scale transformational engagements. His experience ranges from strategic direction setting, organisational redesign, and radical cost-reduction projects through to programme management and operational roles. Many of these roles have been in areas of high political and press interest, and he has successfully navigated organisations and significant change under this scrutiny.
Proactive leader: Azad joined SDL in 2016 as the Chief Transformation Officer and then became the Chief Technology Officer in 2020, having taken on responsibility for the Language Technology division of SDL.
Results-oriented: Azad has successfully seen the deployment of modern platforms and tooling across SDL, enabling our employees to service our customers more effectively and efficiently, and continuing to keep pace with the ever-increasing business velocity demanded.

PRESIDENT, IP SERVICES - Neil Simpkin
Highly experienced leader with extensive market and industry knowledge: with over 27 years of experience in various positions across RWS, including more than a decade in key linguistic roles. Neil uses his deep knowledge of the translation and intellectual property industries to engage with customers and ensure that our product and service quality meets and exceeds expectations.
Strong technical skills: building on his long-standing involvement in customer-facing technology platforms such as inovia and PatBase, Neil drives the early adoption of advanced software solutions into our business to improve internal efficiency and end-user experience.
International experience: with a decade of experience working in China and Japan, Neil is able to combine a deep understanding of East Asian markets with a drive towards globally harmonized business processes and strategic initiatives.
