LiveContent S1000D Mobile now available on iPad

Customers can now access critical technical information through their iPad device with the launch of LiveContent S1000D Mobile, the industry’s first Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP) iOS app.

 

Developed by RWS’s Content Technology division, the LiveContent S1000D Mobile app provides accurate technical, diagnostic, repair and maintenance information to frontline engineers, improving the mean time to repair (MTTR) of aircraft and other military assets. LiveContent is already being used by a large number of customers around the world as well as the US Air Force and US Navy to centrally manage and digitally present their technical publications.

 

“Technicians have traditionally relied on desktop or browser applications to access technical publications and information,” says Bob Hogg, Industry Marketing Director at RWS. “It’s an incredibly inefficient approach – which is why we’re launching a disconnected mobile version of LiveContent. Technicians can now access vital diagnostics and maintenance information anywhere, anytime – even when they’re not connected to the internet.”

 

This new mobile option is available for purchase as an add-on to LiveContent S1000D with the v5.11 release. Additional enhancements in the v5.11 release include native CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile) viewing without any additional plug-in software and the initial framework for data exchange between the field and the upstream processes such as reliability engineering and logistics analysis. Significant platform security enhancements aligned to U.S. Department of Defense security requirements are also available with the v5.11 release.

 

LiveContent S1000D, part of the Contenta Publishing Suite, provides technicians in the field with accurate information in an interactive viewer so they can quickly access the content they need. Its IETP capabilities deliver users with the latest content anywhere, anytime.
