* Powers of Attorney and assignment forms must be notarized and legalized via the Libyan consulate in your home country. The consulate will provide instructions on the procedure that is required; note that costs will be incurred for this.
** There is no deadline for submission of the Arabic translation, however, it is recommended it be submitted within one month from the filing date to avoid any possible complications.
• A simply signed Powers of Attorney is required at the time of filing, with the original legalized Powers of Attorney to follow within two months.
• Extract from the Commercial Registry or Certificate of Incorporation, duly legalized by the Libyan consulate, is required.
• An Arabic translation of the Priority Document is required within three months of the filing date.
• All filing documents, such as the Power of Attorney, assignments and certificate of incorporation, must be translated into Arabic by a certified translator. The agent invoices the client directly for these charges, and also for any late submission of missing documents.
• The Libyan patent office will reject new applications where the original documents are not submitted at the time of filing. The original legalized POA, extract and certified copy of the priority application should be mailed to the agent well before the filing deadline.
