Read the below interview with one of our top Researchers of the Month to find out more about what it is like to be a researcher for the only company that crowdsources IP searches.

Name Bibbi.

Country Macedonia.

What is your profession? Web Designer, Web Researcher.

What is your education background? Bachelors in E-Business, MS in Management Information Systems.

What, if any, experience do you have in patent research? My first experience with patent research began here as a RWS researcher.

What skills are the most useful in your research with RWS? Grasping the topic, understanding the content and the technical background, and logical reasoning.

How did you first learn about RWS? Well, it goes back two or three years ago when I was searching for a job as a researcher on Google. Among the search results was the Article One Partners crowdsourcing community.

What languages do you speak? English, Spanish, Albanian, Macedonian, and Turkish.

What do you enjoy most about being an RWS Researcher? I enjoy that I am constantly learning new things, systems, methods and products when I am conducting research for particular Study.

What is the most challenging aspect of RWS Research? The most challenging aspect, I would say, is finding the right keywords synonyms of priority research requirements. Secondly, winning a Study is quite challenging as you have to find the best, most satisfying, research art to win against the entire crowd of researchers.

What online or offline resources do you use in your research? (i.e. IEEE Xplore, PubMed, Library, etc.) Except the already known and mentioned sources I'd mention semantics scholar, a vast number academic search engines (base-search.net and so forth), archive.org, zetoc informing research, product manual databases, Korean/Japanese university databases of articles and general patent sources.

What have you learned about researching, technology, or patents since joining RWS? I have learned that we all have still life-long learning to do when it comes to technology. I am fascinated how some of these technological breakthroughs that we use today and take for granted are from patents released during 1980s-90s. It is mind-blowing.

How will you use your reward money? For travelling.

Would you recommend researching with RWS to a friend or colleague? Why or why not? Yes, I already have, but so far none of them are patient enough to conduct research or some might miss the technical knowledge behind a technology.

What are your Top 3 Tips for being an RWS Researcher?

  1. Read and understand the subject completely using the Study's attached reference material
  2. Get rid of distractions while doing research.
  3. Commit yourself to the study and think outside of the box when searching for the right material.

What is the most exciting story or discovery you have made while searching for prior art? It was about a study on Clear Air system utilizing coanda effect. What I learned and that I didn't know earlier is that people are more likely to receive an infection during a surgery procedure than the phase before or after it, and this due to the air flow in the surgery room. In this same study I learned about the coanda effect, which was totally new to me. RWS offers a full spectrum of research options to address your specific project goals and budget requirements.

From traditional research performed by proven subject matter experts, to crowdsourced research from our Crowd, RWS has the right solution for your matter. Find out more.
