An investigation of issues in the translation and comprehension of Disease activity in Patient Reported Outcome (PRO) measures

This paper forms part of the body of research carried out by RWS that identifies problematic terminology in PROs and proposes solutions for improved translation and patient comprehension to increase PRO content validity and the quality of respondent data. This research, selected for presentation at the International ISOQOL Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, May 2018, examines the term “Disease activity”, which is frequently identified by patients as a problematic term, and proposes ways to mitigate difficulties in comprehension.
